Meet the Teachers

Ms. Amy

Hi there, my name is Amy Nhaisi and I have been a teacher in E6 for ten years.  Time flies when you’re having fun.  Since I was a child I have loved everything about school.  I graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in English, University of Utah with a degree in Psychology, and University of Hawaii with a Master’s of Social Work.  I completed my montessori certification from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies, in Boulder, Colorado.  See… I told you I love being in school.

I love being a teacher and spending my days with kids, so you can imagine how excited I am to be back in the classroom.  We are going to laugh, create, work, and play…all while wearing a mask and social distancing.  We can do this!

I spend my free time playing tennis, sharing sushi with friends, hanging with my children, and snuggling with my three dogs.  I am a fan of ALL young adult fiction, “The Office”, “New Girl”, big mugs filled with coffee, and little pieces of dark chocolate hidden in the drawers beneath my desk..  I love to doodle flowers, it helps me think and coloring helps me relax.  My playlist consists of Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, Jack Johnson, and Taylor Swift’s latest album, which I often play loud as I drive to school, music always puts me in a good mood.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to be in class with all of you.  We have the most amazing administration, teachers, parents, and students, and I know we are going to have the best year ever.

Ms. Taylor

My name is Ms. Taylor! This is my second year teaching at FMS and I am so excited to start this school year! I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Health and Fitness and Language Arts from Seattle Pacific University. I love integrating sports and fitness into the classroom to keep learning engaging and healthy.

I grew up here in Las Vegas so I have a lot of family nearby, whom I spend a lot of time with. I love watching and playing sports, especially basketball and baseball. I am a very passionate and devoted Los Angeles Dodgers fan! I also enjoy reading in my free time, children’s books and YA fiction are my favorites! I try to stay up to date with what the students are reading and usually end up loving the books as much as they do! I am so grateful to have the opportunity to teach here at FMS. I cannot wait to see what this year holds!

Ms. Heather

My name is Heather Gould. I am familiar with many of the names and faces in our class already this year. I have two children at FMS in E2 and E4 and have been a part of many functions at our school in previous years.

My teaching journey began at 17 years old when I attended UW-Stout in Menomonie, WI. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education I moved to Las Vegas to teach at CCSD. I was fortunate to start my teaching career on Nellis Air Force Base for ten years. I received a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Literacy from Lesley University- Cambridge, MA. The opportunity to open a new school in Southern Highlands presented itself teaching second grade. Shortly after that I started a family of my own. The past eight years I have been at home raising our two children. When the opportunity presented itself to become a part of the FMS family as a teacher I was ecstatic! I look forward to this new chapter and getting to know the families and friends in E6.

As a family we enjoy biking, hiking, skiing, traveling and learning any new activities. We hope to run into you out on the trails!
